Pope Leo XIV wrote in his post that he continues to follow with pain the reports of attacks on numerous Ukrainian cities, among them Kyiv. In his post on X he noted that these assaults cause deaths and injuries, including among children, and inflict serious damage on civilian infrastructure, leaving families homeless as colder weather begins. He assured his closeness to the people so harshly affected and urged not to grow accustomed to war and destruction. Leo XIV also called on the faithful to pray together for a just and lasting peace in war-torn Ukraine.
