Today, the city of Elabuga was attacked by drones. According to Russian state media, ‘debris from the destroyed drone fell on a car factory in the Elabuga district, killing one worker and injuring thirteen others.’
According to preliminary data, one victim is in serious condition, while the others received timely medical assistance.
In addition to human casualties, the attack resulted in a fire, which was extinguished by the emergency services of the Republic of Tatarstan.
The President of the Republic, Rustam Minnikhanov, reported the incident on his Telegram channel and expressed his sincere condolences to the family and friends of the deceased and wished a speedy recovery to the injured citizens.
As is well known, Elabuga produces Geran-2 (Shahed-136) strike UAVs, which Russia uses to terrorise Ukraine every night.
Drone production in Elabuga is located in the Alabuga Special Economic Zone. Previously, it was home to the Elabuga Automobile Plant.
