The Russians are using the families of Ukrainian prisoners of war as a tool for pressure and manipulation. There have been recorded cases of threats demanding that Starlink terminals be officially registered for further use against Ukraine.

This was reported by the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War.

The Ministry of Defense, in cooperation with Space X engineers, managed to disable illegal Starlink terminals. With their help, the army of the aggressor country organized communication for military units and kamikaze drones, which caused significant damage in the rear, according to the report.

After losing this channel of communication, the occupiers began to put pressure on the families of Ukrainian prisoners. There have been recorded cases of threats and demands to register Starlink terminals, which are planned to be used for military purposes against Ukraine.

The Coordination Headquarters emphasizes that cooperation with the occupiers is dangerous, and official registration of the terminal requires identification of the person. If such equipment is used to control drones or attack infrastructure, the fact of registration may be grounds for criminal liability. Families are advised to immediately contact the Coordination Headquarters and law enforcement agencies if they receive threats or blackmail.
