Ukrainian journalist Ihor Burbas has revealed new details of the situation surrounding the doping test of Ukraine and Chelsea winger Mykhailo Mudryk.
According to him, during the national team’s training camp, the footballer felt discomfort that prevented him from playing fully. To recover, Mudryk was injected with stem cells that promote tissue regeneration.
These cells were reportedly obtained from a cow that could have been exposed to meldonium, a banned substance that was later found in the footballer’s sample. The injection was performed by Ihor Porobiya, a physiotherapist of the Ukrainian national team.
The source notes that this procedure was the only case that stands out from everything that has happened to Mudryk over the past year and a half.
Earlier it became known that if the ‘B’ sample confirms the presence of meldonium, Mikhail Mudryk could face a long-term disqualification.
