In the Kyiv region, within the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone, efforts are underway to contain a large-scale forest fire. The fire has already engulfed over 1,100 hectares of land.
This was reported by the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.
Due to strong gusts of wind, the fire is rapidly spreading across the territory and engulfing new sections of the forest. The estimated area of the fire has already exceeded 1,100 hectares.
The situation is complicated by dry weather, strong winds, and the risk of landmines in certain areas.
In some forest sections, firefighting operations have been temporarily suspended due to the threat of explosive devices.
Units of the State Emergency Service, specialized equipment, and personnel from other services are involved in extinguishing the fire.
