The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine is actively preparing for the upcoming visit of US President-elect Donald Trump’s Special Representative for Ukraine and Russia, Keith Kellogg.
According to Foreign Ministry spokesman Heorhiy Tykhyi at a briefing, the date of the visit has already been agreed upon, but it is not disclosed for security reasons.
According to Tykhyi, Ukraine is looking forward to the meeting, seeing it as an opportunity to discuss key issues. “We will be glad to receive Mr. Kellogg, hold discussions with him and convey the Ukrainian vision of ways to achieve a just peace,” he emphasized.
On November 27, Donald Trump appointed 80-year-old retired General Keith Kellogg as special envoy for the war in Ukraine. The media reported that Kellogg proposes to stop the war by ceasing fire along the current line of fighting. In order to stimulate negotiations, he suggests that military support for Ukraine should be continued only if it is ready to negotiate.
