In Moldova, after more than 99% of protocols have been counted in the parliamentary elections, the Action and Solidarity Party (PAS) is confidently in the lead. According to the Central Election Commission, PAS is set to secure a majority of seats in the new parliament .
The Action and Solidarity Party was founded in 2016 under the leadership of Maia Sandu, who later became the country’s president. The party positions itself as pro-European, advocating Moldova’s integration into the EU, fighting corruption, and reforming the judiciary. PAS had already secured a parliamentary majority after the 2021 elections and formed a government that pursued a course toward European integration despite internal divisions and pressure from pro-Russian forces .
Thus, the preliminary results indicate that PAS is maintaining its dominant position in Moldovan politics and will have the decisive role in forming the country’s next government.
