Ukrainian athlete Yaroslava Mahuchikh has been recognised by the European Athletics Awards.
Yaroslava was recognised as the best female track and field athlete of the year in Europe. Other contenders for the award were Femke Bol, Sifan Hassan, Yemisi Ogunleye, Nadia Battocletti, Nafissatou Thiam, Keeley Hodgkinson, Malaika Mihambo, Natalia Kaczmarek and Serena Samba-Maela.

This year, Mahuchih became an Olympic champion in the high jump and also broke the world record. Yaroslava became European champion in 2024 and won the Diamond League.
