The Security Service and the National Police detained 5 Russian agents who committed a terrorist attack in the central part of Zhytomyr on November 20. One law enforcement officer was injured in the explosion.
This was reported by the SBU press service.
“To commit the terrorist attack, the suspects remotely detonated an improvised explosive device near the building of the local police department. On the instructions of Russian curators, they stuffed the explosive with nails and disguised it in a thermos, and detonated it “remotely” using a mobile phone,” the statement said.
The traitors also installed hidden video cameras at the scene, which recorded the explosion in real time.
All five terrorists were detained as a result of a special operation in the regional center. Among them was a 46-year-old Kharkiv resident who had twice served a sentence for robbery and burglary.
During the searches, the SBU seized components of an explosive device, SIM cards and mobile phones with evidence of the crime.
The criminals are in custody. They face up to 12 years in prison with confiscation of property.
