        Kyiv is launching a system to intercept enemy drones. The project, called ‘Clear Sky,’ is being implemented by the Kyiv City Military Administration.

        This was announced by the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, Timur Tkachenko.

        ‘The capital is allocating more funds for the implementation of the large-scale project ’Clear Sky‘, which provides for the protection of airspace using domestic interceptor drones. UAH 260 million will be allocated for the implementation of the initiative,’ Tkachenko said.

        According to him, these funds will be used to purchase equipment and create an effective response system:

        • deployment of an operator training centre — a specialised structure where specialists will be trained to operate interceptor drones;
        • the formation of additional mobile units that will be on duty in the capital and on the outskirts of the city;
        • coordination with the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Air Force and the Defence Forces to achieve maximum synergy with the air defence system.

        According to Tkachenko, during the pilot launch of ‘Clear Sky’ in the Kyiv region, almost 550 enemy drones, including ‘suicide drones,’ were intercepted.

        ‘These are not just statistics. These are lives saved, infrastructure, hospitals, schools, and energy,’ emphasised the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration.
