Kyiv came under a series of attacks overnight into October 2, during which two further strikes were recorded on the Pivdennyi Bridge. As a result, the Pivdennyi Bridge and Paton Bridge were closed in both directions, while traffic on the Metro Bridge was restricted toward the right bank.
This was reported by the Kyiv City Military Administration.
In the evening, Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported a strike on the roadway of the Pivdennyi Bridge. The drone attack damaged a bridge support, a guardrail, the road surface and a protective concrete barrier of the metro.
Metro specialists began de-energizing the rail line. Metro and surface public transport services across the Pivdennyi Bridge were halted.
At around 5 a.m. on October 2, Klitschko reported another strike on the Pivdennyi Bridge. The consequences of the attack are being assessed.
In the Holosiivskyi district, drone debris fell in an open area. Windows in a non-residential building and several vehicles were damaged, with no fire or casualties reported.
Later, a strike hit the upper floors of a residential high-rise in the Darnytskyi district. A fire broke out in the building.
Following the overnight attacks, public transport routes in the capital were changed. The Pivdennyi Bridge and Paton Bridge were closed in both directions, while the Metro Bridge was closed toward the right bank.
Buses No. 22 and 91, as well as No. 51, 55, 115 and 118-D, were rerouted via the Darnytskyi Bridge. Bus No. 1-M is running via the Podilskyi Bridge. Trolleybus No. 43 is operating between the Cybernetics Center and Lybidska Square, while No. 50 is running between Miloslavska Street and Darnytska Square.
