Kremlin denies that Trump and Putin had a phone conversation

11 November 2024 11:28

The Kremlin denies that Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump had a phone conversation after the Republican won the US presidential election.

“There was no conversation. This is the most clear example of the quality of the information that is now published sometimes even in quite respected publications. It is completely untrue. It’s pure fiction, it’s just false information,” Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said at a briefing.

The Washington Post reported the day before, citing sources, that Putin and Trump spoke by phone on Nov. 7, including discussing Russia’s war against Ukraine. The paper’s interlocutors claimed that during the conversation, the U.S. president-elect warned Putin against escalation and reminded him of the significant military presence of U.S. forces in Europe.
