Russian forces launched a wave of attacks on the city of Kharkiv and nine other settlements in the surrounding region over the past 24 hours, killing at least three people and injuring 23, according to Oleg Syniehubov, head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration.

Two people were killed and 18 injured in the city of Kharkiv. In the town of Staryi Saltiv, three civilians — two women aged 46 and 53 and a 30-year-old man — sustained injuries. A 44-year-old man was wounded in Kupiansk, while a 60-year-old man was killed and a 47-year-old injured in the village of Kozacha Lopan.

Four guided aerial bombs (known as KABs) struck the Shevchenkivskyi and Kyivskyi districts of Kharkiv. In total, Russia used a variety of weapons across the region, including one Kh-59 missile, nine KAB bombs, 64 Shahed-type drones, three Geran-2 drones, one Lancet, two Molniya drones, and 12 reconnaissance UAVs.

Damage to civilian infrastructure is extensive. In Kharkiv, three private homes were hit, along with an administrative building, the Children’s Railway, a non-residential building, a racetrack, and several cars. In Kharkiv district, four houses and several utility structures were damaged, along with a gas pipeline. Civilian property was also damaged in the Kupiansk, Izium, and Chuhuiv districts, including a warehouse, vehicles, and an excavator.

The attacks coincided with heavy fighting on the front lines. Ukrainian authorities reported 193 combat engagements in the past 24 hours. In the Kharkiv direction, Russian forces launched three assaults near Vovchansk, Vovchanski Khutory, and Zapadne. In the Kupiansk sector, Ukrainian troops repelled a Russian attack near Stepova Novoselivka.

The scale and intensity of the strikes indicate a continued escalation by Russian forces, increasingly targeting civilian infrastructure and putting lives at risk far from the front lines.
