Kharkiv is considering installing nuclear mini-reactors to generate its own electricity. The move is expected to help stabilize tariffs and ensure reliable energy supply.
This was reported by the Kharkiv City Council, citing Mayor Ihor Terekhov. According to him, the project is especially important for frontline regions that face constant attacks on critical infrastructure.
Terekhov said that introducing mini-reactors would allow communities to have their own energy generation and maintain affordable tariffs for residents.
“We have this project and we will implement it. These are modern technologies and they are completely safe,” he said.
The mayor also emphasized the importance of security guarantees for frontline areas and the need to ensure uninterrupted operation of infrastructure, universities, schools, and hospitals.
