Russian occupation forces fired a missile at the centre of Sumy, causing the destruction of residential buildings.
According to the head of the regional military administration, Volodymyr Artyukh, several high-rise buildings were damaged.
‘The enemy launched a missile attack on the city centre. Several high-rise buildings were damaged. Children in a nearby school were in protective structures, all of them are alive, they are being evacuated,’ he said.
Rescuers are working at the scene, extinguishing fires and going door-to-door to help the victims.
The injured are now known to be 24 adults and 4 children.
