        IMF allocates $1.5 billion to Ukraine to support its budget

        Ukraine has received the first tranche of $1.5 billion from the International Monetary Fund under a new four-year Extended Fund Facility (EFF) programme. This was announced by Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko.

        According to her, the funds have already been credited and will be used to finance priority expenditures of the state budget and support macrofinancial stability.

        The total amount of the programme is $8.1 billion.

        Svyrydenko noted that since the start of the full-scale war, Ukraine has attracted $14.9 billion in financial support from the IMF to the state budget.

        The Prime Minister thanked the partners for their trust and support and stressed that the government continues to implement agreed reforms aimed at maintaining macroeconomic stability, strengthening state institutions and promoting European integration.
