Hackers report hacking of Rosreestr and publish a fragment of the database with names and addresses

The Silent Crow hacker group has reported a hack of the Russian Federal Service for State Registration, Cadastre and Cartography (Rosreestr) and published a fragment of the database.

The database obtained by the hackers contained two billion rows, and the published part contained almost 82,000 records containing the names, dates of birth, addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, and pension insurance account numbers of Russians, as well as their Rosreestr IDs.

“The next person who tries to respond to us is advised to check their doors, windows, and especially old locks first. Rosreestr has become a vivid example of how large government agencies can collapse in a matter of days. As a result, their data, seemingly securely protected, ended up in our collection,” the hackers wrote.

The journalists checked the data from randomly selected rows and made sure that the identities of all the people listed in them were real. In some cases, the addresses of the objects in the fragment coincided with their residential addresses.
