        Germany has announced new military aid to Ukraine worth over €2 billion: the package includes Patriot, IRIS-T and artillery

        Germany has announced a new military aid package for Ukraine worth over €2 billion. It will include Patriot and IRIS-T air defense systems, artillery systems, missiles, ammunition, and modern communications equipment.

        This was reported by Suspilne, citing German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius.

        “We will continue and expand our support for Ukraine. Under new contracts, Germany will provide additional support worth more than €2 billion,” Pistorius said during a meeting in Ramstein.

        According to Pistorius, the new military aid package will include:

        • air defense systems, including Patriot interceptors;
        • two additional IRIS-T air defense systems with a large number of guided missiles;
        • radar systems;
        • artillery systems with high-precision weapons;
        • missiles and ammunition;
        • portable anti-aircraft systems;
        • anti-tank weapons;
        • modern communications equipment and small arms.

        “At the same time, we will continue to expand cooperation between the defense industries of Germany and Ukraine,” the minister said.

        According to Pistorius, Germany will also launch a project to modernize weapons that have already been transferred to Ukraine in order to extend their service life and adapt them to the conditions of war.

        A memorandum of cooperation between the defense industries of Ukraine and Germany is also planned to be signed today.
