Ukraine’s Defense Forces continue to hold back Russia’s offensive on key fronts. As of 16:00 on September 20, a total of 79 combat clashes had been recorded, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported.

On the Kupiansk axis, Russian forces unsuccessfully tried to attack near the village of Myrne. Ukrainian units repelled the assault, inflicted losses on enemy manpower, and advanced up to 200 meters in certain areas.

The fiercest fighting remains near Pokrovsk: since the beginning of the day, Russian troops have attempted 23 assaults in the vicinity of several settlements, including Volodymyrivka, Rodynske, and toward Novopavlivka. Ukrainian defenders have already repelled 17 of these attacks.

On the Novopavlivka axis, Ukrainian defenders carried out successful search-and-strike operations, advancing up to 3 kilometers deep and destroying a significant number of enemy infantry. Several Russian soldiers were captured. The enemy has already failed in six breakthrough attempts, while six more battles are ongoing.

On the Siversk axis, Russian troops launched three attacks toward Dronivka since the beginning of the day. As a result of reconnaissance and search actions, Ukrainian defenders achieved tactical success, advancing up to 200 meters in some sectors and eliminating enemy manpower.

The General Staff emphasized that Ukraine’s army retains the initiative and continues to inflict significant losses on Russian forces.
