The 1209th day of Russia’s large-scale armed aggression against Ukraine has begun. From June 15 to June 16, 175 battles took place at the frontline. The Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled 46 attacks in the Pokrovske sector, 23 in the Novopavlivske sector and 24 in the Kursk sector.
This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The enemy launched four missile and 54 air strikes on the positions of Ukrainian units and settlements, using 11 missiles and dropping 99 guided aerial bombs. In addition, it conducted 5,852 attacks, 67 of which were from multiple launch rocket systems, and used 3,081 kamikaze drones.
Air strikes were carried out in the following areas:
- Petrushivka, Sumy region;
- Krasny Khutir, Hremyachka, Chernihiv region;
- Kopteve, Novopavlivka, Poltavka, Razine, Sukhyi Yar, Novopil, Tolstoy, Voskresenka, Myrne in Donetsk region;
- Novodarivka, Zaliznychne in Zaporizhzhia region;
- Odradokamianka, Kherson region.
Kharkiv, Kupyansk, Lyman and Siversk directions
In the Kharkiv sector, the enemy conducted seven offensives near the towns of Vovchansk, Starytsia, Kamianka and towards Dovhenke.
In the Kupyansk sector, 11 occupants’ attacks took place. Defense forces repelled enemy assaults near Holubivka, Zahryzove, Stepova Novoselivka, towards Petropavlivka and Nova Kruhlyakivka.
In the Liman sector, the enemy attacked 14 times, trying to advance near Kopanky, Novoyehorivka, Lipove and in the directions of Shandryholove, Olhivka, Karpivka, Torske and Hryhorivka.
In the Siversky sector, Ukrainian defenders repelled four attacks by the occupation forces near Serebryanka and Hryhorivka.
Kramatorsk, Toretsk and Pokrovsk sectors
Ten firefights were registered in the Kramatorsk sector near Chasovyi Yar, Bila Hora, Novomarkove and Kurdyumivka.
In the Toretsk sector, the enemy carried out 15 attacks near Toretsk, towards Rusyn Yar, Novospaske, Oleksandr-Kalynove and Yablunivka.
In the Pokrovsk sector, Ukrainian defenders stopped 46 aggressor attacks in the areas of Malynivka, Myrolyubivka, Promin, Lysivka, Novosergiivka, Udachne, Oleksiivka and in the directions of Mykolaivka, Novopavlivka, Novomykolaivka and Pokrovsk.
Novopavlivske, Orikhivske and Kursk directions
In the Novopavlivka sector, Ukrainian defenders stopped 32 enemy attempts to break through the defensive lines in the areas of Kostiantynopil, Novosilka, Vile Pole, Novyi Komar and in the direction of Zaporizhzhia, Novoukrainka, Myrne, Shevchenko, Odradne, Bahatyry.
In the Orikhivsk sector, Ukrainian troops repelled three enemy assaults in the area of Novoandriivka.
The enemy did not conduct any offensive actions in the Huliaipil and Prydniprovsky sectors yesterday.
In the Kursk sector, Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 24 attacks by Russian invaders yesterday. In addition, the enemy launched 12 air strikes using 25 guided bombs, and also fired 233 artillery shells at Ukrainian positions and localities, including nine from multiple launch rocket systems.
There were no signs of enemy offensive groups forming in the Volyn and Polissya directions.
