Kharkiv was attacked by enemy drones on the evening of 23 November, as reported by the city mayor Ihor Terekhov. The series of explosions began at 21:29, after which he repeatedly reported additional strikes and a continuing large-scale attack. Later, Terekhov clarified that 15 strikes on six locations had been recorded throughout the evening, and noted significant damage to private houses.

Initial reports mentioned one person killed and several injured. However, the number of victims continued to rise — close to midnight, the mayor reported four people killed and 17 injured. The body of the fourth victim was found under the rubble of a private house.
The head of the Kharkiv Regional Administration Oleh Synehubov also provided updates on the situation. He confirmed explosions in the city and drone strikes in the Saltivskyi and Shevchenkivskyi districts. According to preliminary information, Russia used “Geran-2” drones and carried out 16 strikes.
Synehubov first reported one, then two people killed and eight injured, including a 12-year-old child. He later updated the figures to three killed and 12 injured, among them a child who suffered an acute stress reaction. At about 00:34, he reported a fourth fatality — a 69-year-old woman — and 13 injured in total.
Emergency services, medics and police worked at the impact sites, conducting search operations and house-to-house checks due to extensive destruction.
