A large-scale forest fire is ongoing in the Kharkiv region near the city of Izium. According to the Main Department of the State Emergency Service (SES) in the region, the fire was reported at 11:15 a.m. today on the territory of Pishchanske Forestry, located on the outskirts of the city. Approximately 80 hectares of forest floor are currently burning.
Intense detonation of explosive devices left behind by Russian forces is occurring in the area. As a result of flying shrapnel, additional fires have broken out — damaging the roof of a two-story residential building, destroying a private house, garages, and several structures and wood supplies on the premises of the forestry’s production site.
Emergency responders, SES pyrotechnic units, a firefighting module, as well as forestry personnel and municipal utility workers, have been deployed to the scene to contain and extinguish the fire.
