The European Union has a clear two-point plan aimed at establishing peace in Ukraine: the first point is to weaken Russia, and the second is to support Ukraine. The statement was made by EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas, as reported by European Pravda.

Kallas noted that the EU has always supported a just, lasting and comprehensive peace. She added that Ukrainian minister Andriy Sybiha briefed EU officials on Ukraine’s position regarding recent developments, and reaffirmed that any peace plan must be supported by both Ukraine and Europe.

The EU’s top diplomat emphasized a simple formula: pressure on Russia and support for Ukraine. She also said that the head of the EU Intelligence Centre and the EU sanctions envoy informed ministers about the impact of sanctions on Russia.

According to the data presented, Russia’s crude oil exports are currently at their lowest in months, and Russia’s oil-based tax revenues are at their lowest since the start of the war.

Kallas added that Russia has repeatedly made hypocritical statements about peace negotiations, but has never taken real obligations. Pressure, she stressed, must be exerted on the aggressor, not on the victim.
