President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Taras Kachka may continue working at Ukraine’s Mission to the European Union in Brussels. There, he is expected to focus on negotiations on Ukraine’s accession to the EU while also performing the functions of Ukraine’s trade representative.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced this on Telegram.

The president thanked Kachka for his work in the Ukrainian government, as well as for Ukraine’s constructive cooperation with European institutions.

According to Zelenskyy, it is now necessary to strengthen sectoral work to advance through the already opened clusters in the negotiations on Ukraine’s accession to the European Union. Particular attention is expected to be paid to communication both with EU institutions and with the governments of member states.

Ukraine is awaiting decisions on the opening of four more negotiating clusters. Zelenskyy believes that Kachka will be able to carry out these tasks most effectively at Ukraine’s Mission to the EU in Brussels.

In addition, given his experience in trade policy, Kachka is expected to combine his work with the European Union with the functions of Ukraine’s trade representative within the framework of bilateral trade agreements with key partners.

The president added that government officials and the diplomatic team of the Presidential Office would support Kachka in carrying out the assigned tasks.
