Enemy Drones Strike Ukraine: 73 Targets Detected, 50 Shot Down Overnight

In the early hours of 24 November 2024, beginning at 00:30, Russian forces launched a large-scale drone attack on Ukraine using Shahed-type kamikaze drones and other unidentified UAVs. The drones were deployed from Russia’s Orel and Bryansk regions.

According to the Ukrainian Air Force Command, 73 enemy drones were detected and tracked during the attack.

To counter the assault, Ukraine deployed aviation, anti-aircraft missile systems, electronic warfare (EW) equipment, and mobile fire groups from the Air Force and Defence Forces.

By 09:00, air defence units successfully intercepted and destroyed 50 drones over the Kyiv, Cherkasy, Kirovohrad, Chernihiv, Sumy, Poltava, and Zhytomyr regions.

Nineteen additional drones were lost from radar tracking, likely due to EW deployed by Ukraine’s Defence Forces.

As of now, four enemy drones remain active in Ukrainian airspace, with combat operations ongoing.
