Law enforcement officers in the Kharkiv region have dismantled an organized criminal group that was distributing highly dangerous psychotropic substances online. This was reported by the Kharkiv Regional Police.
According to the investigation, in January of this year, a 33-year-old man, while serving his sentence at the Khroliv Correctional Center, established and led the group. He recruited fellow inmates and accomplices outside prison to participate in the scheme. The group distributed PVP, 4-MMC, and cannabis through an online store, with orders shipped by mail to customers in Kharkiv, the surrounding region, and other parts of Ukraine.
During the searches, police seized approximately 230 grams of PVP, 65 grams of cannabis, and other evidence of the group’s illegal activities. In total, over 1,000 doses of narcotics were confiscated, with an estimated black-market value of around 400,000 UAH.
Four members of the criminal group have been detained. They were charged with six offenses under Part 3 of Article 307 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (illegal production, storage, transportation, or distribution of narcotic drugs or psychotropic substances committed by an organized group). All suspects were remanded in custody for 60 days without the right to bail.
The operation was carried out by investigators and operatives of the Kharkiv Regional Police in cooperation with the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), staff of Correctional Center No. 140, under the procedural guidance of the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office, and with the support of special police units and the Alpha special operations unit.
