Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov announced that more than 35,000 Ukrainians have already used the new Diia.AI service based on Google’s Gemini model. This is the world’s first state AI assistant, which can not only answer questions but also provide government services directly in chat. In just the first days of operation, citizens generated more than 1,000 official certificates through the service.
Fedorov emphasized that the launch is a global example of government–business partnership in the field of artificial intelligence. Diia.AI runs on the Gemini 2.0 Flash model within Google’s secure Vertex AI cloud platform, which enables fast consultations on more than 200 government services, natural language understanding, and the ability to process millions of requests simultaneously without delays.
Special attention is given to the security of personal data: all information is processed exclusively within Diia’s secure perimeter.
“We are transforming Diia from a digital service into a full-fledged AI agent. The partnership with Google accelerates the transformation of government services. I am grateful to the company for its consistent support of our initiatives,” the minister said.
