Another stage of the 2025 Diamond League women’s high jump has wrapped up in London. Ukraine was represented by the world record holder Yaroslava Mahuchikh, who competed for the fifth time in this year’s series.
This time, Yaroslava fell just short of a medal: in challenging weather conditions after morning rain, she cleared 1.93 m but could not surpass 1.96 m. With this result, the Ukrainian finished fourth — for the first time in three years ending an international meet off the podium.
Britain’s Morgan Lake claimed victory in London, with silver going to Eleanor Patterson of Australia and bronze to Germany’s Christina Honsel.
Despite this, Mahuchikh remains one of the top favourites this season. Her streak of 44 consecutive podium finishes is a record that proves the Ukrainian athlete’s consistency and class, even in the toughest conditions.
Her next chance to return to the top will be on 16 August in Poland’s Silesia, where the next Diamond League stage will take place. Ukrainian fans continue to support their champion, who shows every time that true strength lies in resilience.
