As of 4:00 p.m. on April 20, despite Russia’s declared “Easter truce,” at least 45 combat clashes have occurred along the front line. This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in its latest update.
According to the General Staff, Ukrainian defenders are holding their ground, repelling enemy assaults, and disrupting Russian plans. The most intense fighting is ongoing in the Pokrovsk sector, where 20 engagements have been recorded throughout the day near the settlements of Sukha Balka, Myroliubivka, Yelyzavetivka, Lysivka, Kotlyne, Udachne, Novooleksandrivka, Uspenivka, Preobrazhenka, Andriivka, and Rozlyv. Some clashes are still ongoing.
In the Lyman sector, Russian forces attacked near Nadiya and Myrne. In the Kramatorsk direction, they launched four assaults near Chasiv Yar and towards Stupochky and Bila Hora. One engagement is currently underway.
On the Toretsk axis, Russian troops attacked near Druzhba and Toretsk. In the Novopavlivka sector, two attempts to advance were recorded near Skudne and towards Odradne.
In the Orikhiv area, the enemy launched three assaults near Mala Tokmachka and Stepove, all of which were repelled.
Near the village of Kurshchyna, Ukrainian forces are currently repelling three Russian attacks. A total of 12 combat engagements have taken place in this area so far. The enemy also carried out 100 artillery strikes, including seven with multiple launch rocket systems.
In the Kharkiv, Kupiansk, Siversk, Huliaipole, and Prydniprovske directions, no active offensive actions by Russian forces were reported today.
Ukrainian troops continue to wear down the enemy along the entire line of contact and in the rear.
