The 1140th day of Russia’s large-scale armed aggression against Ukraine has begun. From April 7 to April 8, 159 battles took place at the front. The situation remains the most tense in the Pokrovske, Kurske, Lyman and Toretsk sectors.
This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Yesterday, the enemy launched one missile attack on the positions of Ukrainian units and settlements using one missile, as well as 74 air strikes, including 120 guided bombs. In addition, they carried out more than five thousand eight hundred attacks, including 134 from multiple launch rocket systems, and used 2,782 kamikaze drones to attack.
The occupiers carried out air strikes on the areas of settlements:
- Turya, Ugroids, Miropilske, Prokhody, Krasnopillia, Petrushivka in Sumy region;
- Voskresenka, Zelene Pole, Novopil in Donetsk region;
- Malynivka, Gulyaypole, Zaporizhzhia region.
Kupiansk, Lyman and Siversk directions
Four occupants’ attacks took place in the Kupyansk sector yesterday. Defense forces repelled the enemy’s assault towards Pishchane, near Kruhlyakivka and Zahryzove.
In the Liman sector, the enemy attacked 21 times. He tried to advance near Nadiya, Yampolivka, Torske and towards Novoplatonivka, Novomykhailivka, Hrekivka, Ridkodub, Olhivka, Zelena Dolyna and Novyi.
In the Siverskyi sector, the enemy made three attacks on the positions of Ukrainian troops in the vicinity of Hryhorivka during the day, but the attacks were repelled.
Kramatorsk, Toretsk and Pokrovsk sectors
In the Kramatorsk sector, three firefights were registered in the areas of Kurdyumivka and Chasovyi Yar.
In the Toretsk sector, the enemy carried out 23 attacks near Dachne, Shcherbynivka, Ozaryanivka and Toretsk.
In the Pokrovsk sector, Ukrainian defenders stopped 52 aggressor’s offensives in the areas of Kalynove, Lysivka, Oleksandropil, Tarasivka, Yelyzavetivka, Udachne, Uspenivka, Preobrazhenka, Andriivka, Kotlyne, as well as in the directions of Kotlyarivka, Malynivka and Serhiivka.
Novopavlivske, Gulyaypil, Kursk and other directions
In the Novopavlivsk sector, the Defense Forces repelled 12 attacks on Ukrainian positions in the direction of Bahatyry and near Kostiantynopil, Rozlyv and Skudne.
In the Huliaipil sector, the enemy made two unsuccessful attempts to advance toward Shevchenko yesterday.
In the Orikhivsk sector, Ukrainian defenders successfully repelled eight enemy attacks in the vicinity of Mali Shcherbaki, Stepove and Shcherbaki.
In the operational zone in Kursk region, Ukrainian Defense Forces units repelled 21 attacks by Russian invaders over the past day. In addition, the enemy launched five air strikes using nine guided bombs, and carried out 278 artillery attacks on Ukrainian positions and settlements, including one using multiple launch rocket systems.
The enemy did not conduct any offensive actions in the Kharkiv and Prydniprovskyi sectors.
In the Volyn and Polissya sectors, no signs of enemy offensive groups were detected.
