The administration of US President Joe Biden is calling on Ukraine to revise its mobilization legislation, in particular to lower the age of conscription to 18 years, in order to quickly increase the number of armed forces.

This was reported by a representative of the Biden administration, who spoke on condition of anonymity to the AP news agency.

According to the source, the Biden administration is allegedly recommending that Ukraine reduce the minimum conscription age from 25 to 18 years to expand the available mobilization reserve base. The administration representative noted that “the math of the situation is clear” – Ukraine needs more soldiers to continue fighting.

In addition, the AP news agency, citing European officials who wished to remain anonymous, writes that allies in the West are also expressing concern about the manpower problem in Ukraine. They emphasize that the current challenges for the Ukrainian army are more about the lack of personnel than weapons.
