On the night of 2 May, the temporarily occupied Crimea was attacked by drones. Explosions were heard in various parts of the peninsula, including near Russian military airfields in Sevastopol, Simferopol and Saki districts.
Sevastopol Gauleiter Mikhail Razvozhayev reported attacks in the area of Cape Chersonese, the bay, Kachi and Balaklava. The Telegram channel ‘Crimean Wind’ reported strikes on the Belbek airfield.
Explosions were also reported in the areas of Novofedorivka, Dzhankoy, Armiansk, Feodosia and Gvardeyskoye. In villages around the Kacha airfield, the blast wave damaged private houses, many of which had their windows and doors blown out.
Traffic across the Kerch Bridge was blocked for several hours.
The Russian Ministry of Defence claimed to have shot down 121 drones.
