On the night of 16 July, Russia launched a massive drone attack on a number of regions in Ukraine. Kharkiv, Kryvyi Rih and the Izmail district of Odesa region were hit.
Kharkiv
According to Mayor Ihor Terekhov, 16 explosions were heard in the city within 14 minutes — the enemy struck a civilian enterprise in the Kyiv district.
At least three people were injured.
Kryvyi Rih
Serhiy Lysak, head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration, reported a missile strike and a fire. According to Oleksandr Vilkul, head of the Kryvyi Rih Defence Council, the city was attacked simultaneously by 28 Shaheds and a ballistic missile. As a result, a 17-year-old boy was injured and is in serious condition.
Due to the strikes, there are large-scale power outages in the city, and the water supply systems have been switched to generators.
Odesa region
In the city of Izmail, a fire broke out at an infrastructure facility after the strikes. According to the Izmail Regional State Administration, there are no casualties, and the State Emergency Service is working to eliminate the consequences.
Kyiv
After two relatively calm nights, air defence systems were again activated in the capital.
Vinnytsia
Explosions were heard in the city. According to the Regional State Administration, civilian infrastructure was hit and a fire broke out. Seven casualties are known.
Zaporizhzhia
Enemy drones were spotted flying over the city. According to the head of the Regional Military Administration, Ivan Fedorov, the Shahed drones were heading towards Zaporizhzhia International Airport.
