Angelina Jolie shared her impressions after visiting Mykolaiv and Kherson

American actress and humanitarian activist Angelina Jolie visited the frontline cities of Mykolaiv and Kherson with the Legacy of War Foundation. She spoke with medical workers, families, and volunteers who live daily under the threat of shelling, drone attacks, and mines, which render large areas uninhabitable.

During her visit, Jolie saw how protective nets against drones are being installed above roads in some areas, and how hospitals and schools have been moved to fortified underground facilities, where treatment and education continue even amid constant danger.

“The residents of Mykolaiv and Kherson live with danger every day, but they do not give up. When governments around the world turn away from protecting civilians, the strength of these people and their support for each other is impressive. The actress thanked local organizations and the Legacy of War Foundation team for their support.

The Legacy of War Foundation, established in 2017 by British photographer Giles Duley, works directly with communities recovering from armed conflict.
