Zelenskyy noted that four hostages were rescued. At this time, 14 people are known to be injured. He added that the number may increase as more people seek medical assistance. Among the injured is a 12-year-old boy.

The president said that before going out into the street with a weapon, the attacker set fire to his apartment. It is also known that he had previously been prosecuted, had lived for a long time in the Donetsk region, and was born in Russia.

Zelenskyy stressed that authorities are now establishing all available information about the attacker and the motives behind his actions. Investigators are working on several versions and will examine all his electronic devices, phone, and contacts.

He added that the Minister of Internal Affairs, the SBU, and the Prosecutor General will inform the public about the progress of the investigation, and all verified information will be provided.
