There are over 695,000 Russian troops on Ukrainian territory, the president said. Another 52,000 are in the Sumy direction, and the total number of attacks per day has reached 200 across the entire front line.

Zelensky added that in the Sumy and Kharkiv regions, Russia is trying to achieve at least some tactical victories for internal PR purposes — in particular, to avoid tougher sanctions from Washington.

‘They advanced 200 metres in a week, and we pushed them back 200-400 metres,’ the president said.

He stressed that the Sumy direction is one of the most shelled on the front line — 23% of all bombs and missiles fly there.

Among the types of weapons recorded are mainly aerial bombs and North Korean missiles, which Russia is actively using against Ukrainian positions.
