President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who is on an official visit to Finland, said that he would have a conversation with US President Donald Trump on 19 March.

At a joint press conference with Finnish President Alexander Stubb, Zelenskyy said he would discuss further steps with the American leader.

‘We had a really good meeting of our teams in Jeddah. And I believe that everything would have gone right, if not for Russia, which is always unhappy when something goes right,’ Zelenskyy said.

In addition, Zelenskyy commented on Russia’s nightly attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure. According to him, despite Russian President Vladimir Putin’s statements about a 30-day ceasefire, Russian troops have been conducting drone strikes on energy, transport, hospitals and urban infrastructure.

‘Putin’s words are very much at odds with reality. That is why we need defence support, strengthening of our air defence and pressure on Russia for the sake of security and saving lives,’ Zelenskyy said.
