Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has announced that the peace plan has been agreed upon by approximately 90%. However, there are currently no agreements on the territorial issue and the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant.
This was reported by Suspilne.
“The Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant. And the issue of territories. These are two issues that remain in the 20-point document. That is why I said that this 20-point plan is 90% ready, because there are no agreements on two of the 20 points. As for security guarantees, I said that everything is 100% ready. That is the case. Yes, we are still discussing some details regarding the duration of these security guarantees,” Zelenskyy said.
According to the president, they want to put the 20-point plan to a referendum, which requires at least 60 days of complete ceasefire and adequate security infrastructure.
‘The security guarantees must be supported by the US Congress and the Ukrainian parliament, and the 20-point plan to end the war must be confirmed by a nationwide referendum,’ the Ukrainian president stressed.
There is currently no detailed concept for a free economic zone in Donetsk region. Russia wants Ukrainian troops to withdraw completely from the region, but Ukraine will act in accordance with its own interests.
