Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed new sanctions decisions and announced the entry into force of the 19th package of EU sanctions against Russia. The new restrictions target Russian exports and electronic component supply chains.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy wrote about this on Telegram.
“We are also working to extend EU sanctions to the jurisdictions of other European countries outside the EU. This is a strong package. It acts, in particular, against the export of Russian resources and schemes for the supply of electronic components to Russia, and the total impact of the restrictions on Russian earnings from the 19th package is estimated at least in tens of billions of euros annually,” the message says.
Ukraine has also introduced its own sanctions against Russian entities involved in resource extraction in the Arctic and financing the war. Zelenskyy noted that this step will be taken into account in future sanctions packages by partners. In addition, the head of state instructed the National Security and Defense Council to prepare new decisions on restrictions against Russian propagandists, arms manufacturers, and collaborators.
The president added that Ukraine is preparing a sanctions response to Russia’s restrictions against the Ukrainian prime minister and government officials. He stressed that Russian sanctions have no real impact, but Ukraine will respond to any form of escalation on the part of the Russian Federation.
