Zelenskyy comments on the news about the transfer of Air Force specialists to the infantry

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy instructed the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to explain to the public the situation regarding the transfer of military personnel to other units. He announced this during an evening address.

According to Zelenskyy, the topic of transfers caused a significant resonance, so he personally discussed this issue with the Air Force Commander.

“I have instructed to clarify everything to the public and not to reduce the number of specialists that the Air Force needs to perform combat missions – our aviation, air defense and mobile fire groups,” Zelensky said.

Earlier, the media and MPs reported that the Armed Forces Command had begun a large-scale transfer of aviation personnel and anti-aircraft system maintenance to infantry units. The media claimed that this was an order of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Oleksandr Syrskyi.

The General Staff assured that the scarce specialists would remain in their positions and only certain categories of personnel would be reinforced in other branches of the Armed Forces.
