President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Kyiv has not received any official communication from Russia regarding the terms of a ceasefire, despite related claims circulating on Russian social media.

He stressed that human life is more valuable than any celebrations, and in this regard Ukraine is declaring a ceasefire to take effect from 00:00 on the night of May 5–6.

According to the president, the time available is sufficient to realistically ensure a halt in hostilities by that moment. At the same time, he emphasized that Ukraine will act in a mirror manner starting from that time.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy also stated that the Russian leadership must take real steps to end the war if Moscow believes that holding a parade depends on Ukraine’s position.
