Zelensky confirmed Russia’s strike on a civilian vessel in the Chornomorsk port

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that today’s strike, like many similar attacks, had no military purpose and could not have had one. A civilian vessel was damaged in the Chornomorsk port as a result of the attack. The president stressed that such actions show Russia’s unwillingness to take the current opportunity for diplomacy seriously and its continued war aimed at destroying normal life in Ukraine.

Zelenskyy emphasized the importance of the international community maintaining clear benchmarks about who is prolonging the war and who is trying to end it through peace. He noted that Russia uses ballistic weapons against civilian life, while Ukraine targets objectives that affect Russia’s war machine.

The president thanked everyone around the world who helps spread truthful information and prevents Russian propaganda from influencing political decisions. He added that everything possible is currently being done to protect lives in Odesa and Chornomorsk, as well as in Kharkiv, Sumy, Kherson, Zaporizhzhia and cities in the Donetsk region. Zelenskyy stressed that ending the aggression depends solely on how the world responds to Russia’s actions.
