Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced on Sunday that he had signed a new sanctions package aimed at blocking Russia’s financial schemes, including those involving cryptocurrency. He said that just one company on the new sanctions list had moved several billion dollars for Russia’s military industry since the start of this year. In total, the sanctions target 60 legal entities and 73 individuals—all Russian citizens. Kyiv will work to synchronize these measures with the EU and other partners.
The president emphasized that next week Ukraine will prepare decisions to implement all European sanctions within its own jurisdiction.
Zelensky also highlighted the performance of Ukrainian forces on the front line, noting that the Pokrovsk direction saw the highest number of assaults in a day. He thanked the brigades showing the best results this week: the 38th and 37th Marine Brigades, the 14th National Guard Brigade, the 3rd and 92nd Assault Brigades, the 225th Assault Regiment, the 95th Air Assault Brigade, and the 1st and 425th Assault Regiments.
On Ukraine’s Navy Day, Zelensky met with naval personnel and presented them with state awards. He also announced upcoming new agreements with partners to strengthen both the country’s defense and its recovery efforts.
