President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and U.S. President-elect Donald Trump may meet shortly after Trump’s inauguration.
According to the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Andriy Yermak, official consultations between the teams of the two leaders will begin immediately after Trump takes office.
Yermak emphasized that it is important for the United States to strengthen Ukraine, as it directly affects the strength and stability of America.
“And I don’t believe that America can be strong if Ukraine is not strong and does not get a fair peace. I know for sure that Trump wants to end this war, it is important to him,” Yermak said.
The head of the OP expressed hope that a meeting between Trump and Zelenskyy would take place in the near future to discuss concrete steps to end the war. Yermak also added that the presidential teams will actively cooperate and ensure a quick process of the new administration’s entry into the situation on the battlefield.
Yermak also said that he is in contact with several members of Trump’s new team.
“I will not go into details because I have great respect for our partners and their legislation. But believe me, starting from January 20, these consultations, these contacts will be as effective as possible. And we will work to ensure that the meeting between the presidents takes place as soon as possible, because it is very important,” Yermak said.
