Ukraine is ready for any format of negotiations, but demands an immediate ceasefire. If Putin refuses to participate in the negotiations, it will be final proof that Russia does not want to end the war.

This was stated by the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Andriy Yermak, during a speech at the Copenhagen Democracy Summit 2025.

“Ukraine is ready for any format of negotiations, but the first and most important step is a ceasefire. It is impossible to talk about peace when our cities are under daily attack from missiles and drones,” Yermak said.

According to Yermak, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has confirmed his readiness to personally attend the talks in Turkey. At the same time, US President Donald Trump said yesterday that he expects both leaders to attend and is considering a visit himself.

“If Putin refuses, it will be definitive proof that Russia does not want an end to this war and is not ready for any negotiations,” Yermak said.

He added that in such a case, the international community must respond with new sanctions against Russia and increased military aid to Ukraine.
