The President of Ukraine stated that Russia’s massive attack on the country lasted more than 12 hours. According to him, the enemy launched “nearly 500 attack drones and over 40 missiles, including ‘Kinzhal’ missiles.” In the morning, he added, “Russian-Iranian Shaheds” again appeared in the skies.
The main directions of the attack, according to the President, were Kyiv and the region, Zaporizhzhia, Khmelnytskyi region, Sumy region, Mykolaiv region, Chernihiv region, and Odesa region. In Kyiv, the building of the Institute of Cardiology was damaged as a result of the strikes.
According to the statement, four people were confirmed killed in Kyiv, including a 12-year-old girl; across Ukraine at least 40 people were injured, including children.
The President said that a bread factory, a car tire plant, private houses, apartment buildings, and other civilian infrastructure came under fire. “All necessary services are working on site,” he added.
He described the attack as “brutal strikes, a deliberate and targeted terror against ordinary cities,” linking it to the week of the UN General Assembly, noting that “Moscow wants to continue fighting and killing and deserves only the toughest pressure from the world.” According to him, the Kremlin benefits from prolonging the war as long as “it has energy revenues and its shadow fleet operates.”
The President vowed that Ukraine “will continue to deliver retaliatory strikes to deprive Russia of these opportunities to earn and to force it to diplomacy.” He urged the world to support strict sanctions and an end to Russian imports: “Everyone who wants peace must support President Trump’s efforts and stop any Russian imports. The time for decisive action has long come, and we are counting on a strong response from the U.S., Europe, the G7, and the G20.”
