Ukrainian defenders in the Kursk region have captured two North Korean soldiers, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced in a social media post.
“Our soldiers have captured North Korean soldiers in the Kursk region. These are two soldiers who, although wounded, survived. They were taken to Kyiv, where they are being interviewed by SBU investigators,” Zelenskyy stated.
The President expressed his gratitude to the servicemen of the Special Operations Forces’ Tactical Group No. 84 and the paratroopers for completing this challenging mission. He noted that Russian forces often kill their wounded to conceal evidence of other countries’ involvement, including North Korea, in the war against Ukraine.
Zelenskyy emphasized that the captured soldiers are receiving necessary medical care. He also instructed the Security Service of Ukraine to facilitate journalists’ access to the detainees to ensure the global community learns the truth about North Korea’s collaboration with Russia.
The President highlighted that this incident serves as further evidence of North Korea’s support for Russian aggression.
