The ‘Chornyi Stryzh’ attack drone unit has destroyed a North Korean self-propelled artillery system, which is being used by the Russians in the war against Ukraine. A video of the destruction was posted on the unit’s official page.
It took two FPV drones to destroy the self-propelled artillery system: the first hit hit the engine and transmission compartment, but did not cause critical damage. The second drone managed to bypass the anti-drone defences and hit the fuel tank, causing a fire and destroying the vehicle.
The Koksan M1989 is a North Korean-made self-propelled artillery system. Ukrainian intelligence recorded its delivery to Russia in November-December 2024. According to the head of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, Kirill Budanov, the Russians have already received 120 such self-propelled artillery systems and plan to receive the same number.
