Members of the Armed Forces of Ukraine have assessed the North Korean contingent involved in hostilities against Ukraine. Military men Yuriy Bondar and Volodymyr Demchenko shared their findings on their social media accounts.

Yuriy Bondar, a paramedic with the Airborne Assault Troops, noted the high physical fitness and endurance of the North Korean military, as well as their moral fortitude.

“Imagine that they take our attack drones alive. That is, one is running around attracting attention, and the other is shooting down the drone from ambush. Imagine the level of stress resistance,” Bondar writes.

The military also noted that North Korean infantrymen carry out offensive actions in small groups and do not pay attention to the wounded and dead during battles, continuing to move literally stepping over the bodies of their comrades.

Volodymyr Demchenko also emphasized that for the DPRK’s soldiers, it is not nobility that is important, but achieving results at any cost, which significantly differs them from Western military culture.

“They know that wars are not won by nobility and kindness, unlike the unrealistic military culture that the West now possesses and is trying to impose on Ukraine,” Demchenko writes.

DPRK soldiers do not surrender and usually commit suicide.

The military also reported that the North Koreans have a high level of proficiency in small arms, and that a large number of drones were destroyed because of precision fire.

Bondar noted that the enemy has a frantic pace and dynamics during assaults: 2-3 Koreans are able to knock out the defense and capture a position of 4-5 soldiers, combined with elements of surprise, create a rather large threat.

He also singled out the DPRK’s special forces, which, in his opinion, are very well trained: “In all key indicators, we can say that this is a completely separate caste of people who have been invested in extremely much over the years of training.”

The military emphasizes that North Korean soldiers should not be underestimated, as it is not known how many of them have died, are at the front, or may arrive in the future.
