        Ukraine’s women’s wrestling team wins four golds and tops team standings at European Championships

        The Ukrainian women’s wrestling team has won the team event at the 2025 European Championships. At the continental championship, which takes place in Bratislava, Ukrainian athletes won a total of eight awards – four gold and four bronze – and outperformed their main rivals from Turkey in the team competition.

        The Ukrainian team was represented in all ten weight categories, and eight wrestlers finished the competition with medals. In every final that the Ukrainian representatives reached, they celebrated victory.

        Iryna Bondar (up to 62 kg) and Anastasia Alpeeva (up to 76 kg) became European champions for the first time in their careers. They were joined by Oksana Livach (up to 50 kg) and Alla Belinska (up to 72 kg), who also climbed to the top step of the podium.

        They won bronze medals: Oleksandra Khomenets (up to 55 kg), Solomiya Vynnyk (up to 57 kg), Alina Filipovych (up to 59 kg) and Iryna Kolyadenko (up to 65 kg).

        In the overall standings, Ukraine scored 155 points, outperforming Turkey (138 points) by 17 points and confidently taking first place in the team ranking.

        This victory was the third in a row and the eighth in the history of the Ukrainian women’s national team at the European Championships. At the same time, the Ukrainians surpassed their results in 2023 and 2024, when they won six medals each.
